Tony Greenman Law Offices is a boutique firm, specializing in intellectual property law, with an emphasis on copyrights, trademarks, design protection and trade secrets, entertainment and media law and internet and technology law.

The Firm was established in 1996 by Tony Greenman, the author of the leading textbook on copyright law in Israel and the chapter on Israel in “Copyright Throughout the World”, published by Thomson-Reuters. Tony is also a lecturer on entertainment law and internet law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
 

The firm is the only Israeli firm recommended by AMEC, the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel in America and  is also recommended in the area of  intellectual propertyby the Legal 500 Europe Middle East & Africa. Additionally, we are ranked in Chambers and Partners Global.   We are also a member of INTA, the International Trademark Association.

The firm serves as legal counsel for many clients in the intellectual property, entertainment, media and communications and internet sectors. The firm’s emphasis is on the provision of high quality service with a personal touch. We provide legal services in litigation, transactions, registrations and general advice and counseling.
 
In the field of litigation, the firm represented Israel’s film and television directors in precedent setting proceedings which resulted in the recognition of directors as authors and copyright owners. In addition, we were co-counsel in the successful defense of the Israel Sports Betting Council in a lawsuit filed by the English Premier League and other British professional football leagues, who claimed copyright in the football fixture lists. The court held that the fixture lists are in fact unoriginal facts, not protected by copyright. The firm also represented the Israeli producers, creators and crew unions in major litigation before Israel's Supreme Court and before the Antitrust Tribunal, concerning regulation of the television Industry.  
 
The firm is particularly active in the film and television industries. We represent many production companies in these fields and have acted as legal counsel for many of the most successful Israeli cinema films over the last years, both during production and distribution. The list of productions we have acted for includes Oscar nominees “Ajami” and “Waltz with Bashir”, as well as “Walk on Water”, “Internal Grammar”, “The Syrian Bride”, “Three Mothers”, “Jellyfish”, “For only $9.99”, “Nina's Tragedies”, “The Bubble”, “Lemon Tree”, "Rabies", “Shiva”, “Ushpizin”, “Broken Wings”, “Noodle”, “Paradise Found” and “Vulcan Junction”. In addition, we represented the directors/writers of Sweet Mud and Yanna's Friends. We also act as legal counsel for many television productions, including the acclaimed series "Polishok", "Everything is Honey", The Ran Quartet, "Love Hurts", “The Arbitrator”, "Candid Camera", "Lost and Found", and the local versions of "the Office" and "Parents". We have also worked on numerous documentary films, such as "Children of the Sun", "Dear Perla", “18”, “Paper Dolls” and "Guilty of his Death". We have much experience in handling international co-productions, distribution agreements and format licensing.
 
In addition, to the above we advised Israel’s film directors and screenwriters in the formation and establishment of their own copyright collecting society and advised the Itzhak Rabin Center on all copyright issues involved in the establishment of the Israeli Museum at the Center.
 
We also manage portfolios of trademarks for Israeli and foreign clients, providing registration services as well as handling renewals, oppositions and policing. 
 

In the internet field we advise internet companies and website operators on a wide range of issues, including  service provider liability, privacy and data issues, Ip issues, direct mail and advertising, consumer law and other issues.

Our clients also include leading authors and artists, musicians, advertising agencies, publishers, academic institutions, photographers and film and photo archives.
